Samsung SM-G9098, an Android-powered, premium-looking flip phone headed to China!

While the demand for flip phones might have died down in most markets of the world, the Chinese (among other Asian markets) still seem to have a bit of flip-phone hunger left in them.

Samsung is one manufacturer known to have devices in all shapes and sizes, which makes the SM-G9098 less of a surprise. The device is an Android powered smartphone with a faux leather back, and a quad-core 2.3GHz processor. While it’s only numbers that we’re given, it might be safe to assume that the quad-core processor comes from Qualcomm, perhaps from the Snapdragon 800 inventory.

Samsung did it with the Galaxy Golden, and are doing it again. TheĀ SM-G9098 will come with a 3.67-inch 800 x 480 pixel screen, which is something we haven’t seen on a 2GB RAM phone yet — yes, the device will have 2GB RAM. Among other things that would remind one of a typical 2014 flagship, there’s a 13 mega-pixel rear camera with flash, besides a front shooter of unknown resolution.

TheĀ Samsung SM-G9098 received network licence, and is headed to China’s China Mobile network. No word on whether or not the device will be available outside of the Chinese market though.
