Veaka think they can charge $805 for their 128GB Android phone, what do you think?

veaka android phone

A new smartphone maker, Veaka, have unveiled plans to launch their flagship 128GB smartphone in China for $805!

Veaka have prepared 3 versions of their flagship smartphone, a 32GB model with 8 mega-pixel main camera, 64GB with 13 mega-pixel main camera and range topper 128GB model with 16GB main camera.

Each model will only come in White, and the rest of the hardware is , well a little underwhelming! The display is a 4.7-inch HD, yes 1280 x 720 model, the processor is a Snapdragon 600, and there is 2GB RAM, NFC and a tiny 2000mAh battery!

At least the phone does have an compact 134 x 66 x 8.8mm unibody design and support WCDMA, GSM and FDD-LTE, but as a complete package and when compared to rival phones we just cannot understand why the price is so high!

Gizchina News of the week

The top of the range model costs 4999 Yuan, middle of the range 3499 Yuan and base model 2499 Yuan. I don’t know anyone who would consider buying this phone when the Xiaomi Mi3, Oppo Find 7, OnePlus One, Meizu MX3 and even IUNI U2 offer better specs at a fraction of the price! What do you guys think?

There’s…… Literally nothing good about this phone. They probably won’t even get a single sale, unless some idiot decides to get one because he’s rich and dumb.

      I agree LOL

I’m definitely not gonna spend my money on this even if it has 256GB of internal memory. I’d rather buy Meizu’s 128GB model of MX3 instead.

yeah right with that price, i could buy overpriced-charge-famous-brand like oppo n1 for $600 and buy 128gb sandisk for $130 and still get a change.

N1 isn’t overpriced. Well, maybe just a bit.

I would buy it if the size of the screen was 4,3″, has a snapdragon 801 and fits in 128x56x10 mm housing.
The alternatives you mention are all phone with a 5″screen or bigger.
You could better compare it with a phone from Sharp or the Xperia z1 compact/z1f

Maybe they just want to make impress .. Remember Googphone last year with iPhone 5. They informed that their Goophone will be quadcore 2G ram but then it came with dual core, low res and 512MB. Empty barrel makes big noise.

I will be able to buy two OnePlus Ones for that price lol Plus OnePlus One has way better specs, & lots people making it have experience & knowledge from when they worked for oppo. OnePlus One will be the smartphone flagship of 2014 😉

IMO, nobody should get away charging more than 700 bucks for their phones; not Apple, not Samsung [that’s the main reason why I’m not using Apple or Samsung], and definitely not Veaka.

its their product, they can decide about pricing. I think it is new Blackberry Z10 in the making. BB Z10 was launch in India at price higher than INR 45000. Now the company is selling at INR 16999.

Don’t make me wrong, but this phone has something that no other mass production phone has, Apple iPhone 5S included: you will definitely not see a person with it. You are paying for that. This can only compare to Vertu and other exclusive brands, and no, I wouldn’t buy it, even if I were a rich and badly drunk man.
