Waterproof No.1 S7, Galaxy S5 clone costs just $155

GooPhone might be the most infamous of clone makers, but China’s No.1 aren’t too far behind. Their recently launched S7 phone continues the knock off theme but fails to deliver as promised.

It will come as no surprise to anyone that China has already cloned the Samsung Galaxy S5. In fact Chinese brand No.1 promised a knock off version even before the Samsung launch and with an octacore processor, 5.1-inch display and waterproof/dustproof body no less.

Gizchina News of the week

Well the phone has launched but instead of a 1.7Ghz Octacore has a 1.3Ghz quad-core MT6582 chipset at its heart. The MT6582 is still a great chip, but cannot support FHD resolution (another promised feature), which makes us question just how waterproof and dustproof the No.1 S7 actually is, and are those cameras really 13 megapixel rear (16 mega-pixel promised) and 5MP front?

If you are willing to risk it the No.1 S7 is on sale at $155, which isn’t all that bad for a 5.1-inch, quad-core phone with 13 mega-pixel main camera. If it does end up being waterproof too then all the better.

Because no one likes to create serious plans for a clone.

There will be a second version with octa core processor.

Did you test if it was waterproof yet Chris?

        • April 21, 2014

Nope, I will probably do that when I am done with the review. But not sure yet. I really do not think it is waterproof, there are no sealing rubbers or something like that. Water can go in everywhere. Also our sponsor said that it is for sure not waterproof.

Have it here, I am not sure if it is waterproof. There is no single protection against water.
