Lenovo’s S860 goes official in India with a 4000mAh battery and $350 price tag

More and more smartphones with above average capacity batteries are showing showing up with every passing week. One manufacturer which would want to take the pioneer tag in this segment in Lenovo; the Chinese maker has been rolling out such phones for quite a while now. The P770 and then the P780 are two phones from Lenovo that fall in this category, and came much before other competitors joined them in the act.

The S860 was showcased at the MWC this year, but it is only now that buyers in India will be able to get their hands on one. The smartphone packs a 720p 5.3-inch panel, which means it isn’t going to be the best phone for a multimedia/gaming freak. It is powered by the very popular and affordable MT6582 from MediaTek, which features a quad-core CPU clocked at 1.3GHz. Unlike other battery-centric phones, the S860 actually has 2GB of RAM, making it a much better multitasker compared to the competition.

Other specifications of the phone include 16GB of on-board storage, an LED flash enabled 8 mega-pixel rear shooter, 1.6 mega-pixel front camera, and of course, the USP — a 4000mAh battery. Akin to other MediaTek based devices, the S860 runs Android v4.2 Jelly Bean with some customization from Lenovo.

The dual SIM phone is available in India for a price of Rs. 21,500 or roughly $350. Other devices in this price range in the Indian market include the Gionee Elife S5.5, Micromax Canvas Knight, etc.

OTG and 16GB is enough for most people.

BTW; The Chinese version is only 1GB RAM, it seems only the Indian version is 2GB.
