4000mAh Lenovo P780 now on sale

Lenovo’s successor to last years P770 is now available to buy in China with larger display, faster CPU and bigger battery. Lenovo P780 details here.

The Lenovo P780 follows the companies new design signature which began with the Intel Powered K900, but manufactured from black plastic rather than a brushed alloy material.
Despite the large 4000mAh battery, the phone is still quite thin at just 9.9mm, in comparison the JiaYu G4 has a 3000mAh battery but is over 10mm thick.

The rest of the phone is either large or more powerful than the previous dual-core P770. The 5-inch 720p display with Gorilla Glass protection is an ‘ultra-sensitive’ model so you can use the phone with gloves, a quad-core MT6589 Mediatek chipset with 1GB RAM gives the P780 a performance boost and the new 8 mega-pixel main camera can capture 1080p video and has built-in apps for burst photos and GIF creation.

Running Android 4.2, with dual SIM cards, the P780’s 4000mAh battery offers a claimed 120hours of battery life!

Sales started yesterday here in China at 1999 Yuan ($320). It’s not clear if Lenovo will launch the P780 internationally themselves, but the phone will more than likely turn up on reseller sites soon.

Andi, i’m sorry for asking it here, but since you have tested both umi x2 and jiayu g4, in your opinion, which one is better? What about screens? Can you spot any diference between both? Thanks.

JiaYu G4, it is better made and the OS isn’t buggy. The screen is also brighter on the G4 too. Yes, there is a difference between the 1080 and 720 but not enough of one to have me buy the UMi.

As for the 720 vs 1080 for sure the 720 is very good !

I have a question: What 3G frequencies does the P780 support in Indonesia? In China it seems it supports WCDMA 2100 and in India WCDMA 900/2100. I live in Sweden and need the WCDMA 900mhz band so I´m wondering where I´m supposed to order from =). Any help would be nice. Thanks!

I have the same question as Murak. The Indian Lenovo site shows WCDMA 900/2100. But other retailers in China only show the 2100 band, I also need the 900 band. Is it an omitted error? Thanks.
