Clone smartphones might not float everyones’ boat but there are occasions when the device in question is just too good to pass up! The GooPhone S5, a Glalaxy S5 wannabe, recently launched with flagship hardware at a low $149.99 price!

GooPhone are usually the first Chinese smartphone company to launch “their version” of popular flagship smartphones, but for the S5 they’ve taken a little longer to get to market in an attempt to launch a phone with high-end specs at an ultra-affordable price.

The result is a $149.99 Android smartphone (yes, international price) with quad-core processor, 5.1-inch 720 HD display, 8 mega-pixel rear camera, 2800mAh battery and Android 4.4 Kitkat OS! GooPhone have also taken the time to get a few of the details right including the use of a laminated display, inclusion of NFC, and even built-in dust covers for the plugs and ports.

It uses a quad core but runs on KitKat? Does that mean the MTK6582 and MTK6589 will be getting KitKat updates soon?
