MediaTek powered Lenovo A7-30 now on sale in India for 10k INR

China’s Lenovo has launched yet another budget device for the Indian market, the Lenovo A7-30 Android tablet.

The device comes with specifications that are very similar to Flipkart’s tablet that was launched last night. It comes with a 7-inch display with a resolution of 1024 x 600 pixels, which isn’t quite up to par with Flipkart’s offering which comes in at 1280 x 800 pixels and the same screen size. The A7-30 also packs a quad-core CPU, the MediaTek MT8382 which is basically a tablet optimized version of the MT6582 that has been powering Chinese smartphones since the start of this year.

With 1GB of RAM, the device isn’t the most powerful; however, buyers can expect better performance once Lenovo gets a KitKat build working for the device. Out of the box, the tablet will only run Android 4.2 Jelly Bean which is far from impressive at this stage.

Other specifications of the tablet include – 16GB of expandable storage, a 2 mega-pixel rear camera, a front VGA camera and a 3500mAh battery, which does seem a little teeny for a 7-inch device.

The tablet is available for purchase with a 9,979 INR ($166) price tag in India.

Under specced, over priced and over here, WTF Lenovo, Indians would not buy this, just for Lenovo name alone. Take a reality check and price this for about 6k and perhaps it might sell.
