More companies are adding security functions to phones but few are making phones with security as the main feature. something which the Blackphone is offering as a niche.
Blackphone is a device manufactured in a joint partnership with Spainās Geeksphone and security company Silent Circle. The Blackphone runs a highly customised version of Google Android OS which advanced security features such as data encryption, secure cloud storage, WIFI analyser and VPN services.

Preorders of the Blackphone started back in February, customers who have been patiently waiting for the $629 phone will be happy to learn that Blackphone started to ship the device to customers and the dedicated webstore will reopen for further orders on July 14th.
In addition to the secure features the Blackphone also has a 4.7-inch display, quad-core processor running at 2Ghz, 1GB RAM and 2000mAh battery.
