If you have updated your OnePlus One recently you might have experienced a serious change in battery life for the worse. The good news is that it has been noted and Cyanogen are working on it.

Out of the box the OnePlus One is a phone that enjoys amazing battery life, but unfortunately users of the latest OTA update might be suffering from issues that seriously degrade this meaning they are going to have to charge their phone more often!

Cyanogen’s Steve Kondik has pointed out that the latest update for the OnePlus One is suffering from 2 main issues, both of which are working together to drink your OPO’s life giving battery juice. The first issues is a power management bug that has already been fixed and will be coming to an OTA in the future.

The second issues is more problematic though, and as yet a fix hasn’t been found. Basically the phone is never allowed to fully suspend operations with the lock screen on due to a problem with the proximity sensor. Cyanogen are working on the issue but no release time for a fix has been given.

Are you experiencing issues with the battery on your OnePlus One after updating?

Yes, I have noticed since the update that I’m only getting a day out of it now (just like every other phone ha!), prior to that I was getting an easy 2 days… I hope this gets fixed soon 🙂

it actually is because you rely on that extra juice you had before in the OPO
