Nubia to release their rival to the Meizu MX4 Pro on 19th November

nubia launch mx4 pro

Meizu fans are looking forward to the prospect of seeing the MX4 Pro this week, but ZTE are planning to crash the party with their own Nubia phone launch!

Out of the blue, ZTE’s Nubia brand posted on it’s Weibo yesterday that they will also launching a device on the 19th November (the same time as the Meizu MX4 Pro launch) and even teased Meizu by asking “Why Pro?” in their teaser?

Gizchina News of the week

Nubia are obviously aiming to take on Meizu and are either asking why the new Meizu is a Pro phone or asking fans why buy the MX4 Pro?

In the past few weeks photos of a mystery Nubia device have caught headlines showing a near bezeless design. The images were later posted showing the device with it’s screen turned showing disapointingly large screen edges. Specs of the mystery phone are not yet known but they are likely to be flagship level.

Let’s see who is going to win the launch wars this Wednesday.

This is getting more and more exciting! I hope Nubia come up with a phone that has great camera and great audio quality – maybe an IMX240 Sony sensor with OIS and a DAC that supports lossless format and high fidelity 24/192 khz.

Considering that the Nubia Z7 is hard to come by is there any real excitement around this. Vapourware

These chinese companies give much more fun to us than the rest of the phone makers… the competition/rivalry is high not only because they seek for money (ofc this is their 1st goal) but also because they want to be the best against all the rest. And that is for us the best thing, cuz we enjoy a nice “fight” + awesome phones lately 🙂

ZTE just will open market for their Nubia Z7 flagship on 19th. With killer specs (over MX4) it’s will not beat Meizu price.

Ok Nubia, but where is the original Z7??????? It is still unbelievable how these major Chinese manufacturers can have manufacturing or demand estimation issues… Wouldnt it be wise to invest more in manufacturing process and other things to have enough production that people want? Anyway, still looking for the new device, just keep in mind that you may be able to get it veeeeeery late

Hey, could you write a bit more about the Z7 Max please? Screen quality, battery life, camera and audio quality, handling… Information is quite scarce. Thanks!

Battery lasts about 1 and a half days on normal usage, Its a really good phone all round but needs to be rooted to remove chinese apps, the thing that lets it down for me is the speaker call volume, you really struggle to hear anyone, yet play songs, call volume, play youtube videos and it packs a pretty punch, i just need to find a way to up the speaker call volume and happy days. The camera is the best i have ever used on a mobile very crisp photos, the 2K screen res is spot on, maybe one other small thing Audio on bluetooth is not the best, my old zopo C2 was much better but given these small flaws i would recommend it, most of the bad reviews i have seen are from guys who have put a customised roms on the device and problems happen, hope that helps.

That’s very helpful, thank you. Since you mention 2K screen, does that mean you are using the (flagship) Z7, or is that a typo? Shame about the call volume. Is it deal-breakingly bad?

Any news about this new Nubia device? I have not seen any news about it yet as Meizu MX4 Pro got all the attention here in GizChina.
