Antutu report Meizu MX4 was the highest scoring phone for 2014

meizu mx4 antutu

Benchmarking application Antutu, have reported their top devices for 2014 with the Mediatek powered Meizu MX4 taking 1st place.

Benchmarks aren’t the be all and end all of smartphone performance but they do at least give a rough idea of how a phone runs, and manufacturers like to use them to compare with rival products.

For 2014 Meizu can feel very proud of themselves as Antutu has officially posted the best performing Android smartphones for the previous year with the MX4 taking the top place. It’s great news for Meizu and also their new partners Mediatek who are enjoying an increase in interest from manufacturers and customers thanks to their latest processors.

Gizchina News of the week

The MX4 managed to beat the Google Nexus 6 to the top score, with Samsung, Oneplus, Xiaomi, HTC, Huawei and Nubia all making the top 10.

Yep this is bull sh1t, I’m looking at 47,494 on my OnePlus One with stock CM11s right now! Where the hell are they getting that 44k figure from???

How is your OnePlus One generally been treating you ?

        Very good to be honest,

I went to it from a Samsung Galaxy Note (n7000) so anything would be amazing with more than 1gb of Ram but no, on a serious note, it’s all good, I just wish they’d pump out official updates faster that’s all, I don’t fancy the nightlies route as I’m dependant on my Mobile Banking app which detects root a mile off!

Oh yeah a disadvantage to rooting is you can’t do mobile banking (at least with Barclays anyway AFAIK).

47765 is the average score so it’s not bullshit score-wise. My score on my MX4 is 49651 and i am still running the 4.0.4.1i firmware… some people say that with the 4.1.X can reach easily 51k+.
But in general if you are saying that benchmarks are bullshit then I can’t disagree much since we know that real life experience is what it counts. 🙂

So how does the 47k work out as average then if you’re saying you’re getting 49k and pretty much all the other MX4 posts I’ve read claim this 49k too..?

no idea, I guess it has to do with the Antutu version and since I’m not so geeky to test Antutu with every new update I was back to the older version score 😉

Benchmarks (Anutut at least) is bull sh1t :p

Yep, I agree there Andi 🙂 It matters far too much to some people… Can’t beat a bit of ‘real world usuage’ in my opinion.

Antutu as a benchmark is crap these days because everyone is cheating … what you do get is an estimate of the performance so at least you know if it’s a low end , middle range or top end phone but other than that it’s pretty much bullshit.
Of course when manufacturers get the phone out they’ll be more than happy to brag if the Antutu score is good since customers care about it.
It’s much easier to look at a comparative score than to judge the performance difference. Also I bet you wouldn’t really be able to spot the actual performance difference even between middle of the range and top end phones in day to day usage …

agree as well , but every chinese phone is criticized that they are slow
so having a win is good thing for the reputation of Chinese smartphones

that and the lag on tocuhwiz is unbearable any chinese rom is better than that that sh1t.

benchmarks are variable , some reports have mx4 scoring above 50,000.

just did the test now out of curiosity and i got 50919 on my MX4.. i guess the new version of Antutu gives even higher scores I had all the time around 49600

          January 14, 2015

I’ve always had 46k-47k over all the V5 versions on stock rom of my OnePlus One, I’ve seen higher on the forums but I think they’ve all been with an overclocked Kernel..

Anyway, is’nt it easier for Mediatek SOC’s to fool Antutu into giving it ultra results? 😛 😛 😛

Naa, I’m just messing, I’m sure the MX4 is a fantastic phone! 😀

hahaha, to be honest i start believing the same though some reviews I watched, checked it (somehow) and they said it’s not… but it keeps getting higher.. now i hit 52195 lol… and verified score (hypothetically they check if it’s a scam etc)..
As I said, for me that’s also bullshit… life experience is what people should look 😀

I am using calkulin’s battery saver ROM and FK kernel and I am getting 37K in antutu. Maybe I lowered the overall score 🙂 but ask me for battery life.. 2 days + 8 hours SOT..

  2. January 14, 2015

    Go Mediatek Go … Haha 😀 🙂

2015 is the year mediatek will surpass qualcom IMO , 810 already having problems with overheating and such , 6595 is already scoring near 50,000 and soon many chinese firms will start using the 6795 , so were going to get cheaper and better.

Either way all these benchmarks are pointless once you get past 30,000 on Antutu their isn’t much difference in day to day use , a few seconds give or take.

whats funny is that l the fastest chip out now is still the A8x on the iPad air 2
    Antutu – near 61,000
, too bad apple can’t make use of that power in their o.s.

I’m extremely happy with my MX4. Great build quality, fast 4G and works great with the Google Now launcher.
