On the face of things the Redmi 2 doesn’t really offer all that much to customers who already own the current Redmi 1S, however the slight redesign, more comfortable body and lighter weight do make it a worthwhile buy for first time Xiaomi customers.

The Xiaomi Redmi 2 boasts a 4.7-inch 720p HD display, Snapdragon 410 chipset, 1-2GB RAM, LTE and 8 mega-pixel main camera. Pricing for the phone is likely to be around the $100 mark once officially launched.
