It is no secret that Meizu have a new phone up their sleeve and even less so now that 2 Meizu phones have been sighted in official Chinese documents.

On the 2nd June Meizu will launch a new Android smartphone with physical home button. It is believed that the new phone is the Meizu m2 note, or Milan note 2, and according to Meizu boss Li Nan the phone WONT have a fingerprint scanner.

Official documents leaked today reveal that there are 2 new Meizu phones. The phones known only by their internal code names of M575M and M575U, are thought to be basically the same Note 2 phone but with network support for either China Mobileā€™s TD networks and the more internationally used frequencies.

Gizchina News of the week

meizu m2 note specifications

Of the two it is the M575U or a variant which we are most interested in as it supports WCDMA, FDD-LTE and GSM networks.

As for specifications the Meizu M2 note is believed to ship with an octacore MT6752 chipsets. This is a 64bit processor with Cat 9 LTE support. The phone should get at least 2GB RAM, 13 mega-pixel main camera, Android 5.1 Lollipop and possibly even a new metal frame.

Based on those specs is itĀ enough to tempt current M1 note owners to make an early upgrade? How much do you think the Meizu m2 note will cost at launch?

    How is this an upgrade? Doesn’t the existing model have the MT6752, 13mp main camera and 2GB RAM? Apart from having support for WCDMA and FDD-LTE it’s basically the same phone with a (possible) metal frame. Really can’t see what all the fuss is about.

      It’s not an upgrade, it’s more like a replacement if the ZTE lawsuit rumors are true.

    i dont like the ugly hardware home button, but when this is a solution to the sue from ZTE …the spec are same as M1 note, so the price should be the same.

    I have note m1 and that is first and last meizu i will buy. Screen in flickering, OS is retarded and very hard to use without back and menu buttons. Uncomparble to oneplus or xiaomi phones. Avoid it at any cost.

      You need to learn to use the home button, I also dislike it, but it’s not something hard to learn.

    Really 6752? I think now it’s deprecated and 6753 got it’s place

      My friend, if I am not mistaken the MT6752 is more powerfull than MT6753. Don’t be fooled by the bigger number… they just decided to stop that “M” they used in the past to describe the same model though a bit more downclocked.
      MT6752 is at 1.7GHZ and MT6753 at 1.5GHZ… rest are the same.

        The processor is down clocked, but it adds several American data frequencies. It isn’t useful for most people.

    @Andi,
    Sorry I keep seeing in the articles here that MT6752 and MT6753 have cat 9 LTE… where did you see that?
    rel. 9 cat 4 LTE doesn’t mean cat 9 as far as I know… the speed of cat 4 is 150/50 mbps.
