Update: Zopo Speed 7 and Speed 7 Plus MT6753 flagship specifications

zopo speed 7 plus

Update: This post was originally removed at Zopo’s request a few months ago. The specs of the phones have now changed slightly and the article has been updated to reflect this.

What’s this! A new Zopo phone with near bezel less design, up to 3GB RAM, Lollipop, 64bit and LTE! Here are full details of the new Zopo Speed 7 and Zopo Speed 7 Plus phones.

Zopo have promised that this year we are going to see a big change from them. We have already tried their $169 Zopo ZP530, and have to agree that the new Zopo does make quality phones, but what can they do for a flagship?

These early images and specifications have been sent to us listing all the details of the new Zopo Speed 7 Plus and Zopo Speed 7 flagship devices, phones that share the same design and offer high-end hardware.

zopo speed 7 specifications

As the names suggest, the Speed 7 is a smaller 5-inch FHD (146 x 71 x 8.5mm) phone while the Speed 7 Plus has a 5.5-inch 1080p display (153.6 x 76.5 x 8.5mm). In early reports the Speed 7 had just 2GB RAM, but new updated specifications reveal that Zopo have given both of their new phones 3GB RAM.

Gizchina News of the week

With a larger 5.5-inch display, the Plus has a 3000mAh battery where as the smaller Speed 7 with a 5-inch panel uses a 2500mAh battery.

At the heart of both new Zopo phones is the new octacore Mediatek MT6753 64bit chipset. Features of the MT6753 include Ca9 LTE support, and a Mali T720 GPU. We’ve seen that the 53 isn’t quite as potent as the MT6752 in Antutu, but in real usage the chip holds its own well even when gaming.

The chipset also brings GSM, 3G and LTE support for the following bands. GSM 850/900/1800/1900Mhz, WCDMA 900/1900/2100Mhz, and FDD-LTE 800/1800/2600Mhz. Zopo have also kept dual SIM support and left space for up to a 64GB SD card.

Other details include Android 5.1 Lollipop with tweaked Z-UI out of the box, 13.2 mega-pixel main camera with ‘fast focus’, and 1080 video recording while the front is a 5 mega-pixel camera.

Zopo will officially release the Zopo Speed 7 and Zopo Speed 7 Plus at an event in China next month. It has also been rumoured that a Zopo wearable will also be unveiled at the event.

Not a huge fan of the MT6753 since it’s clocked slightly lower.
As for this device, looks kinda weird in white, hope it comes in black too and the black bands above and bellow the screen make it a bit on the tall side.

Zopo think they are friggin Xiaomi and overcharge for their phones, this will cost no less than 229$ after resellers and for that price you can get a real quality brand device.

lol that 10GB shitty phone? Although S3 is good indeed.

The 3GB S3 version can now be bought for less than 199$, which for me is a real bargain, but you`ll be keeping your fingers crossed if you`ll ever get Lollipop for it, because Jiayu don`t guarantee any software updates.

Indeed it has, they were supposed to be cheaper than the 6752 version, so far that`s not the case. MT6735 with 2GB of ram and a decent camera and a 720p 5inch display should be achievable for 149$ and less.

    Don’t do it!!!

Zopo are complete and utter to$$ers!

They’ve been so quick to forget support for their current flagship the ZP999 (which really isn’t that old might I add…)

They’ve said they’re not releasing Lollipop for it. It wouldn’t be so bad if the KitKat rom was actually half decent but as it happens they’ve done a terrible job of optimizing that too!

Steer clear and buy from a company that’s hungry for the custom because Zopo obviously don’t give a sh1t!

it is not. they’re lying and lying and lying about nearly all their specs. and they seem to have a non-existing support. so why is Doogee supposed to be good?

I can’t understand why all this negative campaigning against Zopo.

I have a Zopo ZP990 for these past two years and can state that I am quite pleased with my phone.

I am looking forward for another new flagship from Zopo in view of acquiring one in order to upgrade my requirements.

I actually think it’s not a bad phone, 3GB Ram which is what all flagships have, 5.1 the most up to date OS, octa-core CPU at a decent price.
