Flyme 5.0 launching on 23rd September

flyme 5

Meizu has confirmed it will release Flyme 5.0 on the 23rd September at the same time as their new product launch.

Meizu recently sent out launch invites which included Go Pro cameras, which is undoubtedly for the new Meizu 5 Pro event, but it will also be the launch pad for Meizuā€™s latest version of Flyme.

Even as someone who writes about Chinese tech for a living, it is really quite hard to keep up with Meizu these days. Over the past 12 months the Zhuhai phone maker has released 7 phones so far, but has barely been able to keep them all up to date and running a bug free OS, and now they are preparing to launch a new Flyme version!

Gizchina News of the week

Not being a regular user of Meizu orĀ FlymeĀ it doesnā€™t affect me directly, but I can only imagine how frustrating it must be for owners of theĀ MX4, MX4 Pro and original M1 phones. Only a few months old and already out of date.

We wonder if Meizu will also announce Flyme 5.0 for their previous generation phones during the event, but more importantly if they will receive a timely update.

Glad I went for a OnePlus One then as it was a toss up between the 2 for me at the time…

15months on and it’s still going strong šŸ™‚

I was thinking about MX4 too, but also Huawei Honor 6.
Oneplus was my choice and I don’t regret.

It is too late to relase it. I already throwed my M1 Note to the wall. Especially late notifications and stucks made me crazy. So, f*ck Flyme Os, f*ck Meizu! Buying a Meizu thing is nothing more than waste of money for me!

Got my Meizu M2 Note weeks ago. and it is smooth in everything except in gaming (Since it uses a weak GPU with 1920×1080 resolution). Though it can still run a game on medium. Camera is good, build quality is awesome. My only problem is the sound speaker, it sucks (low quality and the max volume is still very low), use earphone instead. Flyme OS needs a little bit of study since it is very different on a typical Android UI. But once you learned how it works, you’ll realise how they improve android OS and added some good features on it.

When will the OS be relased? Any news?
