Xiaomi Mi 3, Mi 4 and Mi Note expected to receive Android 6.0 soon

xiaomi mi note

Xiaomi usually concentrate on bettering the MIUI experience rather than jumping on to the latest Android integration, but it seems as though the balance has shifted a bit towards the latter this time round.

Which means that the Xiaomi Mi 3, Mi 4 and the Mi Note are expected to receive Android 6.0 Marshmallow builds very soon.

The update appears to be in its final stages, which means it shouldn’t be too long before the phones get the taste of Marshmallow.

Gizchina News of the week

The Mi 4 is a mighty fine phone, but despite having MIUI 7 has been stuck on Android 4.4 KitKat. Xiaomi’s argument is that the features on an Android 4.4 based MIUI 7 and an Android 5.0 based MIUI 7 ROM are the same… but then there’s always the issue of app compatibility.

There’s no exact timeline available as yet for the Android 6.0 Marshmallow based MIUI ROM, but we’re guessing it won’t be too long… at least before the beta version comes out.

in recent past xiaomi said that users must complain against soc manufacturers (i.e. qualcomm) for not update their old system to the new android versions. but now that mi5 is still not ready to launch, it appears xiaomi magically update their last flagships, no more soc problems… so good commercial move for sure. but I am not complaining as we mi4 users have this chance, at least
