Huawei P9 coming to India 17th August

huawei p9

The P9 is Huawei’s first phone made in collaboration with camera giant Leica. News is that the device will be made available in India very soon.

August 17th is when the phone is expected to see a formal launch in the country. Unfortunately though, there’s no word on how much it’ll cost or where it’ll be available. That said, expect the phone to be available both online and offline with a price tag of around the 40,000 INR mark.

Gizchina News of the week

The Huawei P9 was launched a little over 2 months back with dual rear cameras, a 5.2-inch 1920 x 1080p display, a Kirin 955 SoC, 3GB/4GB RAM, 3400mAh battery and EMUI 4.1 based on Android Marshmallow.

Huawei recently found itself in a bit of a tangle when a photo posted as one from the Huawei P9 turned out to be a DSLR picture.

You can find more info about the P9 here.

Instead of wasting their time in P9 hoopla, Huawei will be well advised to instead introduce Honor 8, at about 25 to 28k.
In Indian market no Huawei phone will sell large numbers @INR 40K, but Honor 8 will have a share of under 30k market.

Yep… I always had an eye on P9 + but looking at Honor 8 and all this new Honor 8 Max… I feel like throwing up.. Would wait for Note 7 and buy it rather than Huawei …

    Cons:

    – The SD 650 and the SD 652 perform better than this at gaming
    – While still being plenty fast for day to day tasks and heavy multi-tasking
    – Plenty phones with SD 65x available at a *fraction* of the cost

    – For flagship seekers, the SD 820 / Exynos 8890 are significantly superior to this
    – Significantly cheaper phones with SD 820 are already available, more to come
    – EMUI sucks donkey balls

    – For status symbol seekers, we have the S7 and iPhone 6S (7 shortly)
    – For folks “serious” about photography, there’s an DSLR / Mirrorless etc.

So who is this for? What niche segment of the user community does it target?

The Huawei lover community of rich folks from 哈尔滨 interested in taking marginally better photos of their incredibly interesting surroundings?
