Coolpad and LeEco’s first joint phone spied

coolpad leeco android phone leaked

A while back news of Coolpad and LeEco join forces shocked the Chinese smartphone world, now everyone is in for a shock again with the first phone from the collaboration.

While the Coolpad and LeEco deal was no secret, the pair have managed to keep the product they are working on under wraps for longer than most.

In the first purported image of the phone, we see an all metal device with dual LED flash and dual camera sensors (this year’s must have phone feature). The women holding the device appears to be taking a selfie which might be a hint at higher than average front camera hardware too.

The image of the phone has also ben accompanied by a small micro blog post on Weibo which claims to detail the hardware parameters of the phone.

According to the post the Coolpad/LeEco phone will feature a 5.5-inch 2K display, Snapdragon 820 chipset, 4GB RAM, 64GB memory, 3500mAh battery and will come with options to run either LeEco’s EUI or Coolpad’s CoolUI.

With so much revealed all that is left to learn is the price, launch date, and which brand the phone will be sold under? Any ideas?

    If they don’t put an AMOLED on it then it will not compete.

      Depends on the display they use. Several companies use LG or Sharp LCD’s and have no issues with competing.

    Hope she won’t rant about the bad front camera: it’s clearly her face the one who’s blurry! :-/

    Anyway, I feel like it’s too early for a thing like this, plus the “double rom from 2 companies” sounds odd: that’s not the first case, but in the other cases are either portings or the second rom is made by a company which makes specifically roms like cyano… Here are 2 companies who make phones, plus letv actually sell phones for spreading its rom and services…

    Imo, chaces are that’s the p20-powered device spotted a while ago, or just whatever coolpad device

    index finger seems unusually central! Noise cancel dot?
    x25, 4gb, 32gb (+sd this time!) -> $200 ))
    1080amoled needs, 4000mah, ir, nfc, and symmetrical front design as le2 – Black pls. not pink. Not sure of the different colour back/top, maybe needs subtle line/texture as little ugly, approve sunken camera, hopefully special difference between sensors 😉

    Im sorry but this is not related to this product, but to LeEco. I own a Le1 Pro (x800) US version. The phone came preloaded with malware and after pressing the issue on their forum they gave us a clean but outdated ROM with bugs. For several weeks now, LeEco staff have abandoned the forum and won’t tell us whether they will fix the bugs or not. The thread is now 18 pages long on the official LeEco forum but they just ignore us. Andi, if you be so kind please get an official statement from the company on the future of this device. There are a lot of unhappy customers in a lot of forums but our requests are all being ignored while the chinese version continues receiving updates (now in marshmallow while we are stuck in lollipop). I will be very grateful. I had very high hopes in this company but now I’m not so sure. Thanks

      Why don’t you install the chinese rom then? On the one you’re currently running on, you’ll never receive any update, since it’s a modified one

        Exactly what I was about to post. That’s what I’m going to do on the two Xiaomi devices that I ordered.
