That price and coupon is only for the Silver model. They Grey model is $USD50 more expensive. Grrr!

You can always use a paint brush.

And a drill to make an extra 3.5mm jack 🙂

Unfortunately, this trick only works on over-$800 phones & sub-60 IQ user. Which still makes a lot of ppl BTW.

Not a bad deal at all. When can we expect the review?

I wouldn’t go that far… The dual cam is a bit of a gimmick, but it’s definitely competitive with other offerings in the price range. Still hoping to see a comparison between the redmi pro and cool1 dual cameras.

Edit: with that being said, I would have preferred that xiaomi had used a single premium sensor rather than going the dual cam route, but I guess I understand the marketing aspect

I’ve seen some comparison between redmi pro and cool1, the latter imho comes on top in almost every single occasion in taking pics, while it’s awful in video recording (in general, not just against redmi pro). Still, redmi pro takes nice pictures, but I’ve seen many complaining about the camera saying stupid things like “it takes good pictures, but from a dual camera I’d want super excellent pictures so I’m disappointed”…

Thanks. I saw that one. He does do very detailed reviews. The cool1 definitely comes out on top in his review.

Yep, it does… To the point that I’m not even understanding what’s wrong with reviews: there’s even a review showing that cool1 hold its own even against last year’s flagship samsung s6, while other reviews say it’s just decent and nothing more… But I’ve noticed also how all the bad reviews come with on board the unofficial multilanguage rom, while the good ones have stock rom… Still, it’s a bit odd!

That’s why I was hoping to see something from Yash , Andi, or Linus at the other site. A lot of the YouTube reviews have been all over the the place, so it’s hard to tell what’s accurate. Hadn’t put together the poor reviews coming on the unofficial rom though. Nice catch.

$247 for a MTK based device!
That’s like paying $50,000 for a fat local street hooker with chlamydia, syphilis and HPV.

~$250 is Samsung Exynos / QualComm territory, not MediaCrap!
This junk should sell for $150 or less….. Oh well, with time…….

      LOL @ that comparison!

That being said, I feel that the phone should have been priced at around the $200 mark. The camera is average and nothing special, gaming is a no-go with that piece of shit Mali T880, and the chip is generally inferior to the QC SD 650 and 652. Good performance in apps and all, but still not better than the 650 or the 652.

$247 is a bit too much and I couldn’t care any less for the Oled screen. $200 would be the highest I’d pay.

($150 would be too low realistically speaking).

The display isn’t all that it’s made up to be (3 weeks with the phone).
        Just Meh.

Performance is fine though (am not an SoC expert), although I haven’t tried gaming with it or doing intensive tasks. Just Facebook, Whatsapp, YouTube and the usual suspects.

The camera blows in low light.
Overall, a shit phone and I should have purchased a better one.

MobileUncle what? Never heard of it.

I don’t use this phone’s GPS because I use TomTom.
            And what are EPO files?

Thanks for the honest notes @KillaFrilla. Shame to hear this phone performs so poorly. I was going to buy this one but seems Xiaomi has failed again… Very poor year for them releasing too many underperforming phones…
