Gionee’s new S9 looks like it wants to be the ultimate camera phone with dual rear cameras and confirmed front facing flash.
Gionee will launch the S9 on 15th November, their first phone with dual rear cameras, and (as far as we can remember) their first phone to receive a front facing flash.
It’s not all that surprising to see Gionee spec a dual rear camera design, after all rivals from Xiaomi, and Huawei have already offered similar ideas, but what is surprising is that Gionee appears to be focussing on both front and rear camera performance.
With a front facing camera we should expect fairly decent front facing camera hardware and image processing features, it might be enough to worry Vivo who are offering advanced front facing cameras on their upcoming X9.
The Gionee S9 will come in silver or black and feature a 2.5D curved display, all metal body, and fingerprint scanner. The 5.5-inch phone will feature a main 13 mega-pixel rear camera and secondary 5 mega-pixel sensor.
Processing power will come from an 8 core 1.8Ghz chipset, and 4GB RAM, Other details we know so far are a 3000mAh battery, front 5 mega-pixel cream and Android 6.0.
