Today it has been announced that due to the overall popularity with the Elphone S7, Elephone have decided to create a special edition Elephone S7 model. The Elephone S7 Special Edition will be launched ‘Soon’ according to our sources, and will get a processor upgrade from the Helio X20 to the Helio X25!

Replacing bad for worse that costs more money is not exactly a step forward.

well, X25 is much faster than X20, so it’s not that bad 🙂

It’s not much faster, just more power inefficient & when you look a little better even X20 is pretty power inefficient now imagine all of that with small battery & you will see a big picture.

Compare battery life of the Xiaomi Redmi Note 3 Pro & Xiaomi Redmi Note 4 now to inlighten you Xiaomi didn’t use QC Mpdecision in any of its newer phones with QC SoC’s nor any other hot plug (basically meaning all cores are active all the time when screan is on) on the other hand they fully implemented Core Pilot with MTK one’s.

l know, how about Kirin chipsets? they are great too

Not really, top Kirin’s (950,955,960) also throttle a lot in the GPU department. The whole industry is ass raping the silicone with frequencies. The Snapdragons 650 & 652 whare a miss regarding this as even the S820 throttles a lot in GPU usage over the longer periods of time.

Mine is a usability so it comes to the battery life/performance & all over lay user experience so I am getting a Xiaomi Mi Max for my self. Also software that I actually can fix & adapt is a big thing for me as I like to play with things like that.

Wow! but why not the permanent edition with Helio X25?? please make it final edition instead of making it the special edition.

It is not correct that after 140,000 people have purchased with a smaller processor, they release one the same, but with enhanced chipset!

This news is amazing, I think it’s good enough with the x20, imagine what will be with the x25!

yes i appreciate it is a big surprise indeed but this decision could be taken earlier or could be applied in next model of in R9.

This is rather random, why would they want to release another version of the same phone? People who bought the s7 are probably not happy about this… Like, they paid for a phone and now the same company is gonna be releasing a more powerful version of it?

honestly, i don’t see the need for this special editions, there are plenty of other phones out there, so i don’t think this would be useful

The problem with limited edition phones is the lack of support and modding community, I mean the less models there are, the less people have them, the less active the community is and that is a very bad thing for Elephone community as lots of different modifications and enhancements come from community developers rather than from the official developers..

s7 special edition? what is it targeted at? i assume people who would like s7 design but don’t think the main model is not powerful enough
