Chinese phone manufacturer Smartisan have recently launched theĀ SmartisanĀ NutĀ Pro, a 5.5-inch phone with mid-range specs and a rather unique design. If we have to compare the Nut Pro toĀ something else on the Chinese market, the Elephone S7 comes to mind, with its as much unique looks and similar price segment.
The choice between the two phones is really up to personal taste though, with theĀ Smartisan Nut Pro featuring a very “blocky” design with a dual rear camera setup, and the Elephone S7 sporting a beautiful curved bezel-less display. The first one is probably easier to handle meanwhile the second isĀ a pleasure for the eyes.

An important factor could be the overall size of the phone, in this case the Elephone S7 has an edge over theĀ SmartisanĀ NutĀ Pro with its much smaller dimensions.
Hardware wise, the two phones aren’t that different, they both feature 5.5-inch Full HD displays, 4GB of RAM and 64GB of internal memory, depending on the version.
As far as software goes, we have theĀ SmartisanĀ NutĀ Pro running its homemade Smartisan OS 3.7, meanwhile the Elephone S7 runs Android 7.0 Nougat with the update to 7.1 on the way.
And lastly āĀ price; the Smartisan Nut Pro 4GB/64GB version costs aboutĀ $260 and is still really hard to find, on the other side the Elephone S7Ā 4GB/64GB can be found forĀ $179.99Ā on websites like AliExpress.

Smartisan is way way way better than the other fake device. In all department. Starting by the look. But more expensive as well.

Smartisan is a rather well established, premium brand in China. If you’ve never heard of Smartisan, you’d probably think it’s a subpar brand but nah ah. haha. Personally, I think their flagship, M1/M1L was better than Xiaomi’s. They just don’t market their products outside of China. A boutique brand in China.
I remember the good ‘ol times when Elephone use to compare their phones to the latest Apple iPhones. Needless to say that it was a good fun reading.
Now they are lowering their standards comparing their 1 year old phone with a good Smartisan.
