Xiaomi Redmi Note 4 to launch in India next month?

Word on the street is that the newest Redmi Note series phone, the Redmi Note 4, is on its way to the mighty Indian smartphone market.

The Redmi Note 3 has been Xiaomi’s highest selling phone in the country since it’s launch earlier this year. Now seems like a really good time to launch the Redmi Note 4… but will that be the case? It does seem so.

Xiaomi Redmi Note 4 India launch date

January 2017 is when the Redmi Note 4 could launch in India.

Gizchina News of the week

The phone has already been on sale in China since a few months. It’s arguably the best-built Redmi Note (as it should be), and performs like a beast also. You can find more information about the phone in our review of the Redmi Note 4.

There’s no word on pricing, but knowing Xiaomi, they’d be trying to give the phone a price tag as competitive as possible. 9,999 INR for the base version, and 11,999 INR for the top-end variant is what’s being touted for now.

Is it possible for Xiaomi to sell a Mediatek phone in India ?

    • December 19, 2016

I believe the answer is a no. They’ll probably come up with a Snapdragon variant like they did with the RN3.

Yash any news, Which Snapdragon SOC ? A 28 nm 650 would be too primitive in 2017 phone.

Well I do think S650 is perfectly fine SoC regardless it’s lithography & proven better than X20 when it comes to power consumption. I am certain that they won’t use the same SoC again. On the other hand old S652 is still capable of beating the S820 in multicore CPU performance & just me by they are able to get it I’m large enough quantities with a lowered price to cover as large market as India. We will probably see soon enough.

I though Xiaomi still banned to sell mediatek Smartphone in india because Xiaomi refused to pay troll license fee to the stupid erricsson ?

But Qualcomm somehow have a special license agreement with Ericsson so they allow to sell without paying any troll license fee.

Hmm so, would be a Snapdragon variant right? Due to mtk restrictions at India. Well a Snapdragon version would make things interesting, hope it’s not another SD625 overpriced phone.

Could Indian version be with SD-625, as rumored. But i doubt if SD-625 could match the 652 in gaming performance.

Redmi note 3 pro already using a powerful Snapdragon 650 so it will be a shameful downgrade if they release redmi note 4 pro with SD-625 *sigh*

    They should NOT.
Redmi Note 3 is still the best phone in its price range. And its not at all old, there are no newer soc. They should wait for the next SD65x and launch new phone in 2017 Q3.
They will easily go with RN3 till then. SD650 and that price is still the best.
