OnePlus 3 gets incremental rollout for OxygenOS 4.1 (Android 7.1.1)

OxygenOS

Smartphone manufacturer OnePlus is rolling out an OxygenOS update for OnePlus 3 and OnePlus 3T. The OTA upgrade will update the stock Android to 7.1.1 and OxygenOS to 4.1.

A new thread on OnePlus Forums announces the upgrade and lists some improvements and bug fixes to expect on your OnePlus 3 handset. Major improvements include the camera and screenshot capabilities.

Image Blur Reduction

The upgrade will, OnePlus claims, provide better blur reduction in pictures of moving objects. The camera on the OnePlus 3 leaves little to be desired but the upgrade to OxygenOS is very welcome. We look forward to a field test to prove or debunk this claim.

Expanded Screenshot

Another useful addition is the added mode in the screenshot feature. The upgrade will allow OnePlus 3 users to initiate what is essentially a screenshot mode. Users will then be able to take expanded screenshots by scrolling up or down the screen. A useful feature if you like capturing text conversations or webpages.

Miscellaneous bug fixes and improvements include better WiFi and Bluetooth connectivity as well as video stabilisation. The OTA upgrade is incremental and may take a while to reach your OnePlus 3. In the meantime, we suggest you take a look at feedback on OnePlus Forums to be sure that all the niggles have wriggled out.
