First Real Photo Of The Xiaomi Mi Mix 2, Or Are They?

Earlier today we were sent these photos from a reader who said they showed the new Xiaomi Mi Mix 2, but it didn’t take us long to realise that they’re something altogether different!

Yes, we can understand why our tipster thought these images showed an upcoming Mi Mix model from Xiaomi. The elegantly simple design and narrow bezels certainly scream Xiaomi, but on closer inspection, we can see they are not.

In fact, these images appear to show a new Elephone handset! Yes! Elephone! We’ve been in touch with our friends who have an ear to the ground at Elephone and we believe that the photos show the all new Elephone S8 smartphone.

From the design of the phone, we can see that Elephone has managed to craft a very attractive Mi Mix clone with narrow bezels with a home button on the chin where the fingerprint scanner will live.

Gizchina News of the week

We can also just make out that Elephone has had to follow Xiaomi’s lead with the position of the front facing camera too which is also located on the chin of the device. We don’t get to see the rear of the phone so at this point, we don’t know if the Elephone S8 will have dual cameras or not.

We also don’t know anything about the specifications on the inside of the Elephone S8, but it goes without saying that the phone will most likely use a Mediatek chipset, and receive similar hardware to other high-end Mediatek powered phones i.e 4GB RAM+, 64GB memory+, large battery, fast charging etc.

We’ll keep an eye out for more news, so keep posted for more Elephone S8 news!

Get a nice concept, feed it to elephone, get some crap in return.
This is the ugliest “borderless” phone I’ve ever seen.
