Sharp getting ready to launch a bezel-less smartphone on May 24?

Well this could be really interesting I guess. Sharp – the well known Japanese electronics behemoth released a poster recently that hints presumably at a launch event scheduled for May 24 in Beijing, China.

If you take a good look at the teaser image but also the press invite you will see that it could be about the launch of a bezel-less smartphone. After all the invite that accompanies the teaser talks about “creating an unbounded media communication” so I guess we get the hint.

Obviously Sharp isn’t new to this whole bezel-less design, as its Aquos lineup of smartphones is well known for its really thin borders around the displays. However, we have to remain calm about this, because Sharp is also known about its Smart TV’s so this could easily be a bezel-less Smart TV coming for all we know. So I guess we’ll have to wait until May 24 when the event is scheduled to take place, don’t you agree?

Nobody cares. It won’t be available outside of Japan just like Aquos.

the invite doesn’t really look like a TV to me… I don’t remember I ever seen an Aquos in the real life. I live in China, and I spend a lot of time in Japan every year… I don’t even remember seeing one.
