totally agree. every phone maker which uses it, even on 60-70$ phones, is telling “I’m ripping you off”. MT6737 should be the very minimum nowadays, This processor is plaguing us since more than 2 years and is just a rebranded MT6582 (other 2 years back), which make this a 4 years old chipset (which wasn’t exactly a powerhouse even when it was released).
Probably the only place it should be found today would be on extremely low budget phones for developing countries, something with a 30$ price tag.

In developing countries there are a lot of people who cannot afford even the basic services, let alone the smartphone.
With such an affordable product, it would be at least easier to get something usable even for people who cannot afford 50$> smartphones, because those people do exist.
