Xiaomi aren’t the most well known for timely Android updates, though it does seem like they’re making more of an effort nowadays. This extends to today’s tidbit of news where Redmi 4A users running the MIUI Beta ROM should be getting an update to bring the device up to Nougat 7.1.2.

Gizchina News of the week

The MIUI Global Beta 7.11.16 update comes with the October security patch and updates the Redmi 4A to Android version 7.1.2 N2G47H. It also brings along a bunch of bug fixes and features for the device. It’s not exactly Android Oreo, but at least the budget device is still going strong.

If you’re one of the people with a Redmi 4A running the Beta ROM, then you’ll want to refresh your update page as soon as possible. Whether the device will get Android Oreo remains to be seen, though we can expect more updates as are typical of Xiaomi devices.
