After weeks of leaks and rumors the much awaited UMIDIGI S2 Lite finally launches at the presale price of $149.99 (from January 22nd to January 29th); let’s see what kind of device & features you can get at this very affordable price!
The first aspect you’ll notice about the phone is its shiny metal back, which makes the UMIDIGI S2 Lite look sleek while retaining the durability aluminum offers. The phone then comes with a large 6-inch display with an 18:9 aspect ratio and is powered by a MediaTek octa-core CPU, 4GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage.
The S2 Lite is also equipped with a large 5100mAh battery and runs Android 7.0 Nougat with Android 8.1 on the way. Thanks to the more optimized OS, power efficient CPU and the massive battery, the phone is expected to have a better autonomy compared to the previously launched UMIDIGI S2 and UMIDIGI S2 Pro (now available on Banggood for $279.99).
On the back of the device we find a 16MP+5MP high-resolution dual camera setup produced by Omnivision, which also marks an important change from past phones in the UMIDIGI S2 series.
We then have UMIDIGI’s 3D Face Unlock technology that promises to minimize the chances of anybody using a photo or a clip of video to hack into your phone. The company also brought back the Samsung “inspired” navigation bar that many users requested. Lastly, the phone features customized LED notifications – users can choose between three colors.
The UMIDIGI S2 Lite will be available in two colors Red & Black, the phone comes with no audio jack, but UMIDIGI includes an adapter from USB Type-C to 3.5mm in the box.
The “regular” UMIDIGI S2 Lite will cost $169 after launch, but if you buy one now while on presale, you will get a $20 off discount, which means a final price of $149.99 (for a limited time).
