With the 2018 Chinese holiday just around the corner, Razer has unleashed a special Limited Razer Phone 2018 Gold Edition to celebrate the holiday. You might be a bit disappointed to see that the only change made to the supposed “gold” Razer Phone is the outline of Razer’s three-headed snake logo on the back of the device.
It’s encased in a special red-sleeved box with golden Razer stickers while the phone itself is adorned with a gold logo at the rear, outside of that, the device is still the same Razer phone as the base variant and the Green special edition razer phone launched in 2017.
Surprisingly, it has only made available a total of 1,688 Gold Edition phones that is immediately available across three carrier locations in Hong Kong, plus online at RazerStore HK and RazerStore US. The device will automatically be taken off the market once stocks for the phone are over. It comes with the same $699.99 (£495) price tag as the regular Razer Phone that was announced earlier in 2017.
To refresh your memory, the Razer phone was announced back in 2017 and touted as a gaming phone. The device features a 5.71-inch IGZO LCD 120 Hz display and powered by the Snapdragon 835 processor coupled with 8 GB of RAM and 64 GB of storage. Backed by a 4000mAh battery, the Razer phone since it was first announced has received one or two updates that enhance the general performance of the phone.
