Huawei’s sub-brand, Honor, has been the driving force behind Huawei’s recent fortunes in the smartphone business. Today, Honor announced that a couple of its devices will be getting the new EMUI 8 which is designed based on Android Oreo. Honor France confirmed that the company has commenced the official rollout of EMUI  8 to Honor 9 and Honor 8 Pro. However, it should be noted that Honor will update at least eight of its smartphones although some of these devices will only get the EMUI 8’s features without Oreo.

From the announcement made on Honor France official Twitter handle,  Honor 7X and 8 are scheduled to get this update by the second quarter of 2018 (April – June). As of now, it is not clear what the update for Honor 7X and 8 holds. It remains to be seen if it will come with Android Oreo. It is quite safe to assume that users of these smartphones in Europe will receive this update in the coming days.
