Essential PH-1 now available in three limited edition Color variants

Essential PH-1

Still, haven’t picked up your copy of the Essential PH-1? Well, this news is right in time for you. If you or maybe someone you know is planning to get the Essential PH-1, the company is now offering the device in three more limited edition color variants. The company via a blog post today announced the availability of the phone in three new colors including the Ocean Depths, Stellar Gray, and Copper Black.

Gizchina News of the week

All three new limited edition variants will be about $100 pricier than the standard black or white model of the phone, so you should be prepared to part with $599 for the limited color variants. These new color variants come with the same designs and internals as the base variant, but offer some nice variety in terms of aesthetics, so essential is basically charging $100 more just for a change in the paint job. Justifying the price hike, Essential says the process of developing new colors for ceramic is “much more complex and challenging than altering colors on standard materials such as plastic”. Colored ceramic is said to be “extremely difficult” to produce consistently, and therefore the company has made only a “small batch” of each of these new colors.

These new color options are limited editions, but the company failed to mention the number of units it has produced. Sold only through Essential’s official website, the limited edition Ocean Depths Essential PH-1 will be available at 12 PM PT, with the Stellar Gray scheduled to go sale on February 20, while the Copper Black follows suit on February 22.
