The P20 launch venue seems pretty camera centric
Today is a fantastic day as we see two Chinese companies battle for the top of the headlines. Xiaomi’s got some fantastic devices on the way with the Mi Mix 2S and mysterious Blackshark SKR-A0, but Huawei’s not done yet. Fresh off the block are some brand new photos of the Huawei P20 launch venue. It’s not exactly much, but at least it’s something we don’t already know about the P20.
One look at the pictures instantly gets across that Huawei wants you to love these cameras. It’s not exactly surprising, Huawei have been touting the P20’s camera capabilities for a while now. But it is impressive that so much of the venue is dedicated towards testing the device’s photography chops. The cameras had better surprise us, or all of the hype around #SeeMooore will have been for naught.
The venue is full of little props and situations that you would see in a camera testing facility. These are all to test the new Leica Triple Camera with 40MP+8MP RGB sensors and a 20MP monochrome sensor that people have been expecting to see. Like we said, Huawei is really confident that this is going to wow people. Aside from that, we also get to see the stage and seats setup, as well as a few promotional walls for the event.
These are truly some exciting times for all of us Chinese tech fans. These companies that were obscure and unknown now have top billing, and we’re pretty happy about. Hopefully, the devices don’t disappoint. What about you though, are you more excited for Huawei’s P20 launch, or are you more interested in what surprises Xiaomi has in store?
