Chinese manufacturing giant, Xiaomi, is known for taking good care of its devices by releasing timely updates, although there are a few cases where the company failed to live up to expectations. Recent reports suggest that Xiaomi has started the Android version 8.0 MIUI9 program for global units of Xiaomi Mi 5, Mi MIX and Mi Note 2. The deadline for participating in this program is April 11. It is worth mentioning that the above models will receive a Beta version of the system, thus there may be bugs. The official version is expected to be released shortly after the beta testing is done.
Generally, Android 8.0 focuses on battery life, speed, and security. Thus these will definitely be some of the features that users of these smartphones will enjoy shortly. Compared to the previous generation systems, the new Android 8.0 further controls the restrictions on apps in the background. This control extends the battery life of Android phones in sleep mode.
