Xiaomi To Partake In Android P Beta program

Project Treble has made it possible for in-depth customized systems based on Android OS to test and develop apps for Android P. It separated the Android ROM partition from the OEM’s modifications which shortens the arrival time for OTA updates. Yesterday, Xiaomi announced that its flagship, Xiaomi Mi MIX 2S, is now part of the Android P Developer Preview program. An Android P Preview has been built to specifically run on the MIX 2S. This preview is completely void of MIUI thus developers can test and build apps for Android P.

Interested developers can click HERE to download the preview. Note that you will have to flash the phone using fastboot but you should only try this if you know exactly how fastboot works. This process will completely erase your data thus make sure you backup all documents. In addition, this preview is associated with a couple of issues including music player crash, phone hanging, internet issues and a few more.

Xiaomi Mi MIX 2S is one of the cheapest devices that is participating in the Android P developer preview. Getting one may not be easy but it is already available in China for about $520. For mor information about Android P, click HERE.
