Moto G6 and G6 Play Coming to India on 4th June

Motorola’s latest offering in the G-series, the Moto G6 and G6 Play are all set to brace the Indian shore on June 4th. Sadly it seems that the G6 Plus won’t be released in the country. Motorola India took to Twitter to announce the unveiling of the two phones.

The G6 will be available online via Amazon while the GYM Play will be available on Flipkart. Both the phones will be available offline through Moto Hubs. The Lenovo backed company has not revealed any details about the pricing but it shouldn’t be very different than the international versions. Even though the G6 Plus is available in many markets Motorola does not seem to have any plans of launching it in the Indian market. I personally was looking forward to the G6 Plus.

As far as the specs are concerned, the G6 is the better of the two. The Moto G6 sports a 5.7-inch FHD+ Max Vision IPS display with an 18:9 aspect ratio and 2160 x 1080p resolution. It is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 450 processor. There are two memory variants available, 3GB+32GB and 4GB+64 GB. Both the variants have expandable storage. On the back, sits a dual camera setup comprising of 12MP and 5MP sensors. The front camera is a 16MP unit with a dedicated LED flash. Android 8 Oreo and a 3000mAh battery with support for Turbo Charging power the phone.

The G6 Play is the toned down version of the G6. It features the same sized display, albeit with a HD+ (1440 x 720p) resolution. Under the hood lies the Snapdragon 430 coupled with either 2GB/3GB RAM and 16GB/32GB storage which is expandable. A 13MP snapper sits on the back whereas an 8MP unit sits up front. Android Oreo is available out of the box. The G6 Play sports a bigger, 4000mAh battery.
