Suning, one of the largest non-government retailers in China has released its sales details for smartphones. The high-demand brands in this store include Apple, Xiaomi, Huawei, Honor, oppo, vivo, and Nokia. As of 12:00 on June 5th, Apple still ranked first in Suning’s smartphone brand sales rankings while Xiaomi followed closely in second place.
The top smartphones on this sales outlet include Apple’s iPhone 8 in the top position closely followed by newly launched Xiaomi Mi 8 in second while the likes of iPhone X and Xiaomi Redmi S2 made the top 5. The high demand for Xiaomi Redmi S2 is quite interesting considering that it has a 999 Yuan ($156) price tag and it is now rubbing shoulders with flagships such as iPhone 8 and Xiami Mi 8 on the top 5 most demanded smartphones at Suning.
However, the demand for the Redmi S2 has a catch. Xiaomi and Suning struck a deal which comes with massive coupons for buyers. The Redmi S2 3GB+32GB comes with a 100 Yuan coupon and other Xiaomi phones line the Mi 6 and Mi Max 2 got low offers. With the performance of the Xiaomi Mi 8, do you think Xiaomi can topple Apple?
