Oppo Find X: Here’s our first look at the future of bezel-less screens

Oppo Find X

So, Oppo’s Find X is about to be revealed in a few hours, but thanks to The Verge who have been handed out a pre-production unit before time and they’ve detailed what basically the future of bezel-less screens will be. This is more of a hands-on video and it delves into the design of the handset. So, we’ll leave you with the images and the video. Images are courtesy of The Verge and we’re glad to see some great quality footage that we’ve been dying to see since many days.

The quest to end the existence of bezels has finally led to this – the Oppo Find X. Apple tried it to their best. And they ended up with a notch, at least for a first. But just look at this design by Oppo. It oozes quality and beauty from every angle. So, there’s no notch, no bezels on the sides and a very thin bezel at the bottom. Basically, it is the best screen-to-body ratio you’ll be able to get your hands on. If you care about screen size, it is a 6.4-inch OLED panel with 1080 pixels resolution.

Talking about the most unique aspect of the Find X, it is the motorized external slide-out camera system that makes such a screen possible in the first place. It not only hides the front camera but also the rear camera from plain sight. Also, when activated it slides out in about 0.5 seconds which is very fast. Like the Nex, you have to enter the camera app to see the magic happen.

The other feature that could be controversial, is the 3D facial scanning system that replaces the fingerprint. Oppo must have a lot of faith in it that it completely removed the lightning fast touch-based sensor. Oh, and yes, it is a curved display. The rear also is full glass.

Also, The Verge says that it comes with VOOC charge. So that is a kind of a bummer but we’ll take it anyway. Besides it has all top draw specs – Snapdragon 845, 8GB of RAM, 256GB of storage, 25MP front camera, 16MP + 20MP rear shooters, and a 3,730mAh battery. Android version is 8.1 flavoured with the latest version of Color OS.

Once again, we credit The Verge for such awesome footage and also for satisfying our deep curiosity surrounding the handset.
