Launched: Lenovo Smart Display with Google Assistant

Amazon’s Echo Show is one of the few smart displays on the market. And now, the Lenovo Smart Display has also joined the rank as a smart display with Google Assistant.

To sum it up in a few words, the Lenovo Smart Display is basically Google Assistant with a screen. It does everything Google Assistant does, from setting an alarm to showing you a video on Youtube. There are two variants, one with an 8-inch and another one with a 10-inch. The 8-inch smart display has a grey plastic cover on the back while the 10-inch variant features a wood-like finish.

On the spec front, the Lenovo Smart Display has a Qualcomm Home Hub Platform. It consists of Snapdragon 624 coupled with 2GB RAM and 4GB storage. It has a 5MP camera up front with support for 720p video recording. The camera has a physical shutter to hide the cam which is quite thoughtful. It supports WiFi 802.11ac networks and video calls via Google Duo.

The 8-inch variant is priced at $199.99 and the 10-inch display variant is priced at $249.99. You can buy it from the company’s website and shipping will begin in August. The Smart display comes with three months free of YouTube Premium.
