A new
leak says a 2027 imaging flagship phone is moving to a wider screen shape on its Pro models. Tipster Digital Chat Station posted it on October 26, and
IT Home reported it. The leak does not name the brand but IT Home says it is likely
Huawei, based on the tipster’s past posts.
What the Leak Says
The tipster says the information comes from engineering samples. The standard model keeps a 6.6-inch mid-size screen. The Pro and Pro Max switch to a wide screen of about 6.39 inches. The tipster calls the line an “all-round wide-screen imaging flagship,” and it is aimed at the first half of 2027. The Pro screen is smaller on the diagonal, but that is the point of a wide shape.
A Smaller Screen Can Show More
The 6.39-inch figure measures the diagonal. A wider screen adds width and removes height.
Huawei’s Pura X View, which launched on September 7, shows how this works. It has a 6.39-inch panel at 2232 by 1320 pixels with a 16:9.5 ratio. Reports put its display area at 114.27 square centimeters, larger than the 6.9-inch iPhone 17 Pro Max at 111.55. The phone starts at 5,999 yuan (about $845), and
Kuaike reports it sold more than 180,000 units in a single day.
Is It the Pura 100?
Huawei’s imaging flagship line is Pura. By its usual cycle, the Pura 100 would arrive in the first half of 2027. Kuaike expects a Kirin 9050 series chip, but that is speculation. The same tipster has said Huawei is looking at wide phones across several lines, including the mid-range nova. He said Mate has no plans for now. Since the leak never names the brand, the Huawei link is just a guess.
What to Keep in Mind
This is still the evaluation stage, and the plan can change before launch. A wider body may feel different in the hand, and apps must fit the new shape. Reports say other phone makers are also looking again at wide phones, so Huawei may not be alone. The sources give no information on global availability.
