The
OnePlus 15 is
getting its stable Android 17 update earlier than planned. But there is a big change for owners: the update replaces
OxygenOS with
ColorOS 17.
The rollout has started in India. It uses build number CPH2745_17.0.0.102(EX01). OnePlus had planned to start the global rollout on October 29, but users outside India will have to wait for more details.
A fresh look with smoother animations
ColorOS 17 brings a new look to the phone. The Lock screen, Quick Settings and notification panel have all been redesigned. New light effects and smoother animations also make the system feel more fluid.
OnePlus has also improved how the phone handles apps. The updated Laminar Flow Engine aims to cut lag when many apps are open. It can also help keep more useful apps running in the background.
New AI tools do more work for you
The update adds new tools to Mind Pilot, OnePlus' AI assistant. Its new Agent mode can help sort photos and files with less work from you.
There is also a new tool called OSee AI. It can scan documents, while a separate Translate app adds more language tools. ColorOS 17 can also spot fake faces in video calls and AI-made voices in scam calls.
Another useful change lets several apps play audio at the same time. This means you can hear sound from more than one app without having to stop one first.
When will other OnePlus users get it?
For now, the stable update is only rolling out in India. OnePlus has not given a firm date for Europe or other markets.
The bigger change is the end of
OxygenOS for eligible OnePlus phones running Android 17. OnePlus confirmed that these devices will move to ColorOS instead. The two systems have shared many features for years, so the change may feel familiar to some users.
Still, the name change matters. Owners will need to see how the new software works on their phones before judging whether it is an improvement.
