Today, Xiaomi held the Xiaomi Mi MIX 3 conference in the Forbidden City in Beijing where it officially launched the Xiaomi Mi MIX 3. Xiaomi said that Mi MIX 3 will support the 5G network standard but it is now clear that the model with this feature will come next year (Q1). Lei Jun confirmed this at the press conference when he said that the Mi MIX 3 5G version is expected to be released in the first quarter of 2019.

The official launch event has detailed the camera configuration of the Xiaomi Mi MIX 3. This includes a 24MP + 2MP front soft light dual camera and a rear 12MP+12MP zoom dual camera. This smartphone scored up to 103 points in DXOmark. Thus, it ranks third after the Huawei P20 Pro and Apple iPhone XS Max. DXOmark scores of the HTC U12+ and the Samsung Galaxy Note 9 are the same as well.
Regarding the camera capabilities of the MIX 3, especially the night shooting ability, Xiaomi said that with the MIX 3 eight black technology, the company has been focusing on optimizing the night view photo experience.
