Huawei’s New Starlight Phone Could Bring a Wide Screen and 1TB Storage

Huawei may be preparing a new phone under its rumored Starlight brand. A fresh leak points to a wide screen, a Kirin 9-series chip and up to 1TB of storage.

The phone is still in development, and Huawei has not confirmed the Starlight brand. The details come from a tipster, so the final hardware may change before launch.

The first Starlight phone is said to have a 6.39-inch display with a wide shape. Unlike a foldable, it will use a regular phone body, with no hinge or second screen.

Huawei has already tried this design with the Pura X. That phone uses a 6.39-inch OLED screen with a wider shape. It gives users more room for reading, watching videos and playing games. The new Starlight model could bring the same idea to a more affordable phone.

The leak points to a Kirin 9-series chip, along with up to 16GB of RAM and 1TB of storage. These are strong specs for a phone from a brand that is reportedly aimed at buyers who want good value.

However, the tipster appears to be describing a test unit. This means the memory and storage options may change before the phone reaches stores. Details about the cameras, battery and price have not surfaced yet.

An earlier report suggested that Starlight, known as Xingmang in China, would focus on online sales. The brand may offer strong hardware at competitive prices. Different models could use Kirin 8-series or Kirin 9-series chips.
