According to the latest report, the first-ever Huawei 5G Foldable Phone is going to make its appearance at a special event in 2019. Huawei has presented the finished product to some Korean mobile carriers instead of the prototype.
Huawei has already pitched the device to Korean carriers, reports local media today, and an insider commented that it wasn’t a prototype or a proof of concept device.
Huawei plans to officially announce the foldable phone in the Mobile World Congress MWC 2019 next February. The company is reportedly receiving foldable displays panel from China BOE.
When folded and unfolded, the screen sizes were 5 inches and 8 inches, respectively, which were reported to be 0.4 inches and 0.7 inches larger than Samsung foldable panel (4.6 inches and 7.3 inches).
It is worth to mention that a previous reports stated that Huawei is planning to bring its first 5G foldable smartphone in June next year. Considering that 5G network tests is required, it should be prepared from March to April next year.
In the first half of next year, 5G commercialization is possible in Korea and the US. In Japan, China, and Europe, 5G is expected to be commercialized in the second half and beyond.
