Many think Xiaomi is all about smartphones. But Xiaomi is presented in myriads of fields and it can be said Xiaomi is everywhere. One of the core parts of the company’s strategy is smart home. The latter can’t be imagined without artificial intelligence. This morning, it held the 2018 MIDC Xiaomi AIOT Developer Conference in Beijing. The theme of the conference was ‘AI Empowerment, All Things Interconnect’. At the conference, Xiaomi announced some interesting data referring to AI, announced a cooperation with IKEA, demonstrated the capabilities of Xiao AI voice assistant, and launched new products, including the new MIjia Smart Door Lock.

First, Lei Jun announced that the Xiaomi Group has started the IoT layout since 2014 and has supported nearly 2,000 devices, with more than 132 million smart device connections. The number of active devices activated by Xiao Ai is about 100 million units. The total number of ‘wake-ups’ exceeds 8 billion, and the number of monthly active users exceeds 34 million.

At the same time, Xiaomi and IKEA reached a strategic cooperation. IKEA’s full line of smart lighting products will be connected to the Xiaomi IoT platform in December, supporting the voice control of Mijia App and Xiao AI. This is the first time IKEA has cooperated with Chinese technology companies.

In addition, as said, the manufacturer announced a new smart home product – the Mijia Smart Door Lock, which comes with a variety of unlocking methods and Mijia app linkage.

It is reported that the Mijia Smart Door Lock is designed by Mijia ID design team. It adopts a genuine ferrule C-class intelligent lock core, supports integrated 3D live fingerprint recognition, password, NFC, Bluetooth, and other unlocking methods (in total, there are 6 methods). There are built-in 7 safety sensors and more than ten security black technologies. This door lock supports Mijia App Smart Unicom.

Compared with other smart door locks, the main advantage of the Mijia Smart Door Lock is the support behind the Xiaomi AIOT platform. For example, when the user opens the door, Xiao AI will welcome you, the air conditioner will adjust to the appropriate temperature, and so on.

The Mijia Smart Door Lock will be released on December 5 at 14:00.
