Nokia 8.1 (6GB +128GB) will be announced in January 2019 in India

One week ago Nokia 8.1 was announced by HMD Global, and as of today through an event in Delhi, the company has launched the phone in India. Previously during the presentation, Nokia 8.1 was showcased in only 4GB RAM with 64GB internal memory and is likely to be released in the similar variant only.

‘Ajey Mehta’ VP of HMD Global India, on the event said that the 6GB +128 GB variant of Nokia 8.1 is likely to be released in January 2019 but he did not reveal any further information regarding the pricing and buying options of the top variant.

The company has introduced launch offers for the Nokia 8.1, such as Airtel prepaid users who wish to buy the phone can get 1TB of 4GB data on provided plans starting at just Rs 199 and for the Airtel postpaid users they can get 120GB of data with additional subscription of Netflix for 3 months and Amazon Prime for 1 year. Lastly for HDFC credit and debit cardholders can avail up to 10%.

Coming to the Nokia 8.1 specs, the phone belongs to the Android One category which runs on Android 9 Pie and boasts a 6.18-inch full HD+ display. The handset is powered by Snapdragon 710 backed with a 4GB RAM with a 64GB internal memory. The device is juiced with a decent 3,500mAh battery which supports charging at 18W.

Speaking of the phone’s camera, the device sports a dual rear camera of 12MP + 13MP and at front it has an immersive 20MP selfie clicker. The Nokia’s 8.1 -4GB + 64GB variant will be made available from 21st December, carrying a price tag of Rs 26,999 and is likely to go on sale on Nokia.com, Amazon India and other offline stores
