EMUI 9.0 (Android 9 Pie) update is now available in beta for 9 other Huawei and Honor smartphones

EMUI 9, which is Huawei’s custom user interface based on Android 9 Pie operating system, has already been implemented on the major Huawei and Honor smartphones in China and the global version has also been announced.

In the past few hours, the Chinese manufacturer has announced that the open beta of EMUI 9 update will be available for nine other smartphones, including :

  • Huawei Mate 9
  • Huawei Mate 9 Porsche Edition
  • Huawei Mate 9 Pro
  • Huawei P10
  • Huawei P10 Plus
  • Honor V9
  • Honor 9
  • Huawei Nova 2S
  • Honor Note 10

According to reports, after installing this open beta update of EMUI 9, some of the third-party applications will not work properly and you will need to rely on the apps available on the Huawei store. Obviously, the problem will be solved when Huawei will start distributing the stable update.

To install the EMUI 9 beta, the phone must not be rooted and there should be at least 6 GB of available of storage space.

The update, in addition to the features of Android 9 Pie, brings with it numerous bug fixes, many improvements, GPU Turbo 2.0, optimization for full screen smartphones, a new password manager and support for AI-based features.

It is worth to mention that Huawei has announced that its mobile phone shipments for 2018 are expected to exceed 200 million units worldwide, the company will be the first Chinese mobile phone brand to ship more than 200 million units a year.
