Four archaic Nokia phones get a new update

The old Nokia brand has a lot of smartphones which were practically abandoned as the company sank in the deep blue sea. However, after HMD Global took over the company, it promised that all Nokia phones unveiled under its watch will run the latest Android 9 Pie before the year ends. It has kept to this promise and now the company is trying to maintain select devices which were released before it came on board.

Nokia 808 PureView

Nokia ruled the smartphone market when the Symbian system was at its peak. However, with the dominance of iOS and Android, the Symbian system has quietly disappeared from the smartphone market. However, if you have the Nokia 808 Pureview, N8, C7, and E7 phones, the tripartite team Delight has just sent a huge gift, they released the latest iteration of Symbian 3. Nokia 808 is updated to v1.7, C7 is updated to v6.5, E7 is updated to v1.2, and N8 is updated to v6.6. However, C7/E7/N8 only supports English and Russian. Although Nokia 808 supports up to 8 languages, there is no simplified Chinese version.

Gizchina News of the week

Since the four phones don’t support 4G network, it’s frankly more or less useless as it will barely take care of anyone with social needs. Take the Nokia 808 Pureview released at the 2012 MWC as an example, the biggest highlight is its 41MP Carl Zeiss lens but the display is only 4-inch with 512MB of RAM and 16GB of internal storage. Presently, a 512MB RAM smartphone should be great grandpa’s alternative device.
