LG plans to present the LG G8 at MWC 2019

Unlike the previous years, in which many manufacturers chose to launch their flagship smartphones outside the usual orbit of CES, MWC and IFA, LG plans to launch its flagship phone at MWC 2019. This year, that phone will be the LG G8.

Launching outside of a trade show is intended to prevent your ad from being diluted among hundreds of ads for other products. On the contrary, the advantage of using the big fairs is the large number of media attending the event.

Although we had heard that LG was planning to present a flexible prototype for CES, the company changed its mind because it wanted to keep the focus on more concrete products available to the consumer. For this same reason, it is unlikely that we will see that prototype in the MWC.

Since the last time LG launched a phone in the MWC – the LG G6 in 2017 – the mobile landscape has changed. It is rumored that Xiaomi is planning its launch on the same day as LG, which a few years ago would not have had great relevance but now can lose focus on LG’s announcement.

However, nothing is definitive at the moment. We will be attentive to new informations as we approach MWC 2019.
