First orthodox drop-test on Redmi Note 7 shows that the display is solid

About three days ago, Chinese manufacturing giant, Xiaomi, released its latest smartphone which is also the first device from the independent brand, Redmi. Since the official launch of this smartphone, the emphasis has been on the strength of its display. We have seen a couple of unorthodox tests which try to show that the display of this phone is strong. However, the first orthodox drop-test for the Redmi Note 7 has now appeared online. The results show that neither the display nor the touch screen operations were affected after the test.

This smartphone comes with a Corning Gorilla Glass 5 protection and Lei Jun said that the fifth-generation Gorilla Glass used by Redmi Note 7 is a product that supports its budget plan. According to Corning, its fifth-generation Gorilla Glass is four times more affordable than competing glass, and it retains the damaging properties, optical clarity, and touch sensitivity of Gorilla Glass. Moreover, the R&D team carried out innovative protection treatment for the most fragile fuselage corners of Redmi Note 7 and used a 0.8 mm thick glass to match the glass edge planing process. This effectively reduces the chance of a broken screen when the phone calls.

More importantly, the Redmi Note 7 adopts the same quality standards as Xiaomi’s flagship mobile phone. Further checks and filter increases its quality input. In addition, Redmi has increased the warranty time from the conventional 12 months to 18 months for the Redmi Note 7. Lei Jun said that “18 months super long warranty” requires a lot of cost in the R&D, testing and after-sales service system. Redmi Note 7 is the first in the industry to implement the 18-month long warranty.
